San Francisco Dining Guide
Chinese
Hong Kong Flower Lounge
The Hong Kong Flower Lounge serves the best Dim Sum on the Peninsula. My favorites include deep fried taro dumplings and pot stickers.
Fook Yuen Sea Food Restaurant
I swear that this is the real name of the restaurant. Their seafood is outstanding. I also recommend the Peking duck and red bean or green bean soup for dessert.

Ming's places a very close second for Dim Sum for their delicately prepared crab rangoon. It is certainly worth tolerating their universally unfriendly servers.
Mei Long
Mei Long applies a burst of creativity to Shanghai style cuisine. Try their inventive specialties instead of the traditional dishes found on the menus at most Chinese restaurants.

Yank Sing serves the best dim sum in the city.
Italian
Cafe La Tosca
Tucked away at the end of the main street in San Carlos, Cafe La Tosca serves the best Italian food in town. They serve an interesting variation on zabaglione sauce for dessert. In addition, the service is outstanding.

Mediterranean
Cetrella is my favorite coastal getaway. Go for dinner when Brenda Boykin is performing. Stop into the Jazz bar for dessert, espresso, after dinner drinks, and dancing.
Mexican
Chef Sandoval artfully presents a creative twist on Mexican cuisine. The roasted corn soup with truffle oil is amazing!
Pizza
Zachary's serves the finest Chicago stuffed pizza outside of Chicago. It is very similar to Giordano's. I never thought I would find good pizza in California. Now I think I actually prefer Zachary's to the Chicago original, on account of a better tomato sauce. My family is thankful as well since they no longer have to FedEx me Giordano's when I go into withdrawal.
